The International Business Opportunities Centre (IBOC) has received information regarding a tender opportunity from the Consulate General of Canada in Sydney, Australia. The details are as follows:
The Department of Innovation and Information Economy, Sport and Recreation Queensland (DIIESRQ), on behalf of the Queensland Government, is seeking proposals from Mobile Network Operators interested in providing the full range of mobile telephone products and associated services to Queensland Government agencies.
The proposals are intended to enable the endorsement of Preferred Suppliers who are capable of providing mobile telephone products and associated services to the various agencies within the Queensland Government.
However the Queensland Government reserves the right to appoint a single supplier, should any Respondent offer a significant advantage either in price or innovative service offerings.
The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Griffith University are also looking for providers of mobile telephone equipment and services, and will use the results of this tender process to negotiate new contracts for their own mobile telephony needs.
Proposals will also address the normalisation of the many varying contracts currently in place between mobile service providers and Queensland Government agencies, and provide some additional benefits to mobile telephone users throughout Queensland in recognition of the Queensland Government's "Smart State" initiatives.
