Police officers secure the scene after a student was stabbed outside the Extended Education Building at the University of Manitoba Monday night. A suspect has been arrested after a stabbing on the University of Manitoba's Fort Garry campus Monday evening. The victim, a U of M student his early 20s, is in stable condition in hospital. The stabbing occurred outside the Extended Education Building after a dispute. The suspect is not believed to be a student at the university. "We're hoping for full recovery for the victim," John Danakas, head of communications for the university, said today. "This appears to be an isolated incident. For us, it's important to know there is no danger and Winnipeg police told us there is no danger to anyone on campus," he said. Police had taped off Parking Lot J and an area near the music building on Dysart Road Monday night
